How to stay healthy Day
Why we are Overweight
America and other countries have encountered a serious problem in the last 40 years. This problem has been caused by the growing in population and the effect that big food companies have on the crops and livestock. This problem is the percentage of obesity that has erupted in our society. More than two thirds (68.8%) of American adults are either overweight or obese and one third of children are overweight or obese. Why is this? How did this happen? well the invention of the 99 cent burger is partly to blame for this epidemic.
Fast food chains such as McDonalds, Burger King, and Jack In the Box have made a considerable profit off of the 99-cent burger. Since other healthier options are more expensive than the burger, people prefer to buy the food that is less expensive, less work to acquire, and fills them up more The other part of the problem is that all of the people who are obese are either lazy and don’t want to work to get into to shape or they don't know how to control himself around food. An example is, the average American should eat about 2,000 calories a day. The average calories that a person actually consumed are about 2,600 a day. That is about ¼ more calories than we should be eating. On top of that statistic people do not do enough physical activity which and slowly makes it harder and harder to lose the weight that they have put on. Suddenly after consistently living this type of lifestyle people are overweight and unable to get the weight off. This leads people into depression, which only makes it worse for people.

BMI and Health Around the World
What is BMI (Body Mass Index)? Body Mass Index a measure based on your height and your body fat. This scale measures if you are underweight, normal, overweight, or obese. Obesity in America is a huge problem. If you have a BMI of 25 or up you are overweight and if you have a BMI of 30 or over then you are obese. A sight to check your BMI is at the bottom of the article.
The top three fattest countries in the world in order are America, China, and India. The only problem is that China and India are the two largest countries in terms of population on the planet. This statistic is based on how many people not the percent of population. In America 33% of the adult population is obese that is 78 million people. China the second fattest country has 46 million people that are obese in the adult population but, the percentage is only 4.4%. This statistic is incredible because China’s population is about 1.3 billion people and America's population is about 320 million. This means that China's population is four times ours but we still have almost twice the amount of obese people in America. This is an atrocity, there must be ways to get people specifically in the United State to realize that the lifestyle that they are living is not good for them and causes serious health problems.

How to stay Healthy Day 3
Ways to Stay Healthy
It seems like it is so easy to gain weight but so hard to lose weight. I am going to give you tips on way to lose weight or stay healthy. The top four diets that are chosen by Medicine News Today are the diets that I I’ll be talking about. The first is something called the, “Atkins Diet” which is about controlling the amount of insulin in our bodies by eating lots of food with carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are foods high in in simple sugars like fruit. This diet is helpful because the carbohydrates are supposed to raise a lower your insulin levels quickly, which helps your body store more energy that fat. The second diet is called the Zone Diet. This diet is also to control insulin levels but uses a system where you moderate your calorie intake at 40% carbohydrates, 30% fats, and 30% protein. The third diet is something that may be familiar with some people; it is the “Vegetarian Diet.” This diet is to sway you from meat or animal products. There are many different types of vegetarians such as Lacto vegetarian, Fruitarian vegetarian, Lacto-ovo-vegetarian, Living food diet vegetarian, Ovo-vegetarian, Pasco Vegetarian, and Semi-vegetarian. All of the types have different aspects of them and what they eat. Some people become vegetarian because they don’t believe in harming animals for food. Others do it for health and skin problems. But most people do to lose weight and cut out fatty red meats such as cow and pork out of their diet. The last diet is the “Vegan diet”. This diet is like vegetarian but even more selective in its foods. Just like vegetarians, Vegans don’t eat meat but, they also don't have any animal products like milk and eggs. Using one of theses diets including working out consistently will improve your energy, stamina, and make you feel more alert and focused.

Exercise
file:///Users/vhillmd2/Desktop/Unknown-3.jpegExercising is a key in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. There are many methods of exercising. There are the home videos like P90X and Insanity. You could got to the gym and have a personal trainer to try to burn the calories. Or you could do to all by yourself on your schedule. The Harvard University school of Health states “Get a minimum of 2-1/2 hours per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, or a minimum of 1-1/4 hours per week of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity, or a combination of the two. That could mean a brisk walk for 30 minutes a day, five days a week; a high-intensity spinning class one day for 45 minutes, plus a half hour jog another day; or some other combination of moderate and vigorous activity. Doubling the amount of activity (5 hours moderate- or 2-1/2 hours vigorous-intensity aerobic activity) provides even more health benefits. Adults should also aim to do muscle-strengthening activities at least two days a week.” This includes walking a dog, hiking, or any other activity that includes exercise. Exercise helps but the extra sugar that has been stored as fat in your body but, you can’t just cant do cardio. You must also work on building muscle because muscle helps increases your metabolism and increasing your metabolism helps you to keep the fat off.

How to Stay healthy Day 5
GMO’s
GMOs are literally everywhere in the United States. But for some reason the US is the only place where they can be found. Other countries in Europe have force companies with GMO products to label the product in grocery stores. This forced the companies to almost completely stop using GMO products because people were not buying them. Why have we let GMO companies such as Monsanto take control of us and even worse how come most Americans don’t even know what a GMO is. This is a huge problem because GMOs are potentially harmful to our bodies. What is a GMO you ask? Well a GMO or Genetically Modified Organism is something that has been molecularly modified to have some train it does not naturally have. This is what Big food companies use to help their crops or live stick grow faster and more plentiful. For example, they inject corn with the trait to resist the weed poison Round-Up so, when they spray the crops with it only the weeds and other unwanted plants die and not the corn.
GMOs have been tested on animals like the rat, and a large amount of those test subjects have developed tumors. But why haven't these been banned in the United States yet? This is because the government has not found credible evidence that these have any effects on humans. They said that if it wasn't for GMOs that we wouldn't be able to feed all 7 Billion people on this planet. They also say that people have been selective breeding since before time. They said that farmers have always kept the crops that have thrived more and got rid of the others. The only difference with this time is that we are literally drowning our food in plant poison then that is being sold to use unknowing of the effect on our body.
